Building A Health Community Center in Vasal, Nipps.
Summary of the project
There is no Hospital close to a population of more than 5000 people called Vassal, Nipps to help caring for the sicks children in the area, as well as the pregnant women in the area. In the past few years, many women have died during motorcycle rides to reach the nearby hospital for treatments. There are no ambulances and no other means of transportations to reach the closest Health Center that is miles away from those people.
To solve this problem, the residents of this desperate area have been crying to their government officials, but there is no one to hear them and even try to assist. However, they did not lose hope.
They have seen the spirit of togetherness and caring that some Christians and other members in the diaspora community, have been showing many communities in Haiti, they like have decided to bring their pleas and cries now to their millions brothers and sisters around the world to hear, so they can see what they can do to help them building this Health Center or Community Clinic in this location that will save the lives of so many women and children, especially the pregnant ones.

Contributions of the Locals of Vasal
The Locals in order to be in line with Chanjel’s philosophy and Mission, have decided to provide their contributions as well as to make this project a success. They offered the land and many other things such as labors, cements, water, rocks, and many other things that can contribute to the construction to this Community Health Center, so the whole project can really stand as a community project.
The Clinic will be able to serve over 5000 people in the area with a full- time doctor, 2 full time nurses, one lab technician, one medical director, and 2 assistants.
The doctor can be a resident in the area or also can come as needed, based on the budget allocation for the Clinic.

Some of the prices for those items will be updated soon. As soon as we have them, we will put them up. For now, we are focusing on in getting the construction done. While the construction is going on, we can definitely come with the total cost of operations.

- Block wall and Light cover with Tolls

Cost of the building is being calculated in:

- Haitian Dollar
- Finally, US Dollar
Other costs maybe added; however, the cost of the Clinic will depend mostly on the price of materials, as well as the contribution of the locals. Per Chanjel’s policy, the locals must take part in the construction of their Health Community Center. This is for them, and they must contribute on it to protect it, secure it, and value it. Important Details about the Clinic’s Operations
The Clinic will be operated as semi donation project. Customers will be required to pay for the service; however, no one will turn away for services if they don’t have money. They will be a system of credit the customer will obtain at the hospital that will require the customer to pay X amount a month. Nevertheless, or the survival and the longevity of the Clinic, customers will be required to pay for the services, and the money collected from the Clinic operations will be used for additional projects to develop the Community for the people of the area.
Research and experience have shown, for many years, anything that Haitians think they don’t have to pay for it has no values, respect and well regarded in the country. The Best way to reverse that psychology is to make them pay for the services and get the money reinvested in their own community in different projects.
