We aim at eradicating physical and spiritual poverty with practical programs and opportunities capable of empowering people positively, so they can empower others.
With our Specialized education and training programs, our beneficiaries have the physical and spiritual tools needed to impact their communities in the best inspiring ways possible, where receivers and baggers can be transformed into producers.
According to many sources, there are an estimated of 9000 to 10000 non for profits organizations in Haiti (goggle search). Haiti being called the Capital of non for profits organization, and it is being the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. What is going on, and what is going on? Other questions, one needs to ask is why, they are so much poverty and misery and pains in the country with so many organizations focusing in helping poor people in Haiti? Or maybe one may ask, why the need for another organization? There are many answers to that
However, we realize for the amount of talents, experts, knowledge, experiences, resources that are available to us, the moment that we truly determined to put some of our resources, experiences and knowledges together for something bigger than us to create a legacy, where we don’t cross our arms to let foreigners do for us what we can do for ourselves, I believe that we can definitely make a big difference and serve as a model for so many young people, who are coming behind us and want to serve their people and their country with love, peace, unity and respect for all.

Chanjel has been working for the forgotten, the overlooked, and the underserved. We serve the rural communities where no one else goes, the farmers who fuel our economy but receive no support, and the children and orphans left behind without care. We stand beside the single mothers raising families alone, the elderly who have given everything to this country and received nothing in return, and the dreamers who still believe in a better tomorrow despite all odds. Chanjel works for those who have no government to protect them, no systems to support them, and no voice to speak for them—until now.

For the last 20 years, we can say that the changes have not really been significant as we would expect them to be, and therefore, today, we really want to move to a new strategy of rebuilding people inside-out, and helping people to produce, so they can really help themselves and others. In other words, offer practical education, training, opportunities and coaching to help people discover how smart, powerful, and capable they are to achieve more for themselves, their families, their communities, and ultimately the Country that they belong in, which is a short word for being responsible citizens to one another. Chanjel is a Creole term meaning “Change it” in English. It represents our mission to bring change and transformation to individuals, families, and communities in need.
Chanjel started 20 years ago under a different name and has since grown into a recognized force for good both in Haiti and the United States.
